about i heart guts

I Heart Guts is the brainchild of an anatomically obsessed illustrator who loves internal organs and all they do. Founded in 2005, the company strives to offer the best in stoopid slogans paired with happy gloppy guts. I wish I could tell you I was a medical school dropout or some other such tale, but the truth is, I just like body parts. I enjoy imagining everyone as giant bags filled with guts. We've all got 'em, we all need 'em, so why not draw 'em, I figured?

We started out with one T-shirt and now our apartment is filled with tote bag guts, button guts, sticker guts, tons of tees, and now plush toy organs. Oy vey. If ever you need a gut, come on over and we'll bust you one. Ever thought about buying your favorite doctor or nurse a little something to say thank you? Well, look no further. Your urologist will freak when he or she gets a happy bladder instead of a... what does one get a urologist, anyway? Don't know what gift says, "Hope you're feeling okay after that gallbladder surgery"? or "I'm really worried about your liver"? or "Thank you so much for giving me your kidney?" How about a snuggly plush gallbladder? Or a fluffy happy liver? Or a cuddly kidney? Whether you're well, ill, or just sick in the head, I Heart Guts has a gift that's just right for the weirdo in your family. So stay away from those boring old get-well bears (no offense to the bears, but you know what we mean) and get guts instead.

Entertainment Weekly ventured: “Who hasn’t dreamed of owning a shirt with a bright, animated uterus on the front? Guts creator Wendy Bryan makes that fantasy come true,” while arbiter of hip Cool Hunting enjoys the “bizarre, giggle-inducing designs” from I Heart Guts.

Got a gutsy foundation or non-profit? We want to collaborate with you! I Heart Guts works with transplant organizations and health organizations to raise funds for fabulous organizations. We are happy to custom-design buttons, stickers or tees for concerts or fundraisers to help raise money. This fall, we teamed up with friends of Jay, who's got pancreatic cancer and whose nice friends helped him raise cash for treatment with a rock show and some specially-designed I Heart Guts "Pour Some Sugar On Me" pancreas tees, left. Jay has really got some guts --pancreatic cancer stinks. In 2006, the Colitis and Chrone's Foundation of America raised money with some special I Heart Guts happy intestine buttons at their Pearl Jam fundraising concert. Yay! Why don't you write us a note today and tell us about your organization so we can help you raise some moolah?

We're looking to get into the gift shops of some progressive hospital and clinic gift shops, but we've had little luck on our own -- perhaps you know of a really hip hospital that's open to gifts beyond "get well" bears clutching bouquets of fake flowers. Want to tell us about a really cool hospital? Write us and let us know.
